Love is patient and kind…

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.”

God’s love is much like a parent’s love for their children.  Our love for our kids  everyday is tested  in one way or another.  Our patients  day in and day out is tested, however, in the end our love always with stands the “Mom, Please”, ” I hate you, sis”, “I had it first”, and well, the list goes on and on.    Sometimes God has to give us a lesson over and over before we learn.  Does that sound like parents with a child?  How many times have I had to tell my kids over and over to do something before they learn to just obey me the first time.   When our children falls short in an area of their lives we parents are usually the first to pick them up and encourage them to try again.  God, waits with loving arms to pick us up and encourage us to try again.  So you see the love we as parents have for our kids–is the kind of love God has but a 100 times more powerful for us.  As when I was a child and found comfort and encouragement in my parents’ arms–I now find that same comfort and encouragement in my Heavenly Father’s arms.
