Threads of Faithe!/groups/79313514102/

We are an out-of-pocket, home-based organization who’s mission is to help put a Threads of Faithe blanket on every baby that is born and has to stay in the Children Hospital. This is to give them a comforting feeling of arms holding them.

We rely heavily on the donations of yarn and supplies to the group. To see what we need check out our wish list. We also always need volunteers to help make the blankets, Newborn hats, and booties!

We are also starting a Card Ministry for those in need of alittle pick me up mail. Two ways to take part in this ministry either by donating supplies and stamps or being a Mail Out Person.

Please no spamming–this is a group for Charity and Friendship.

Busy Hands for Charity

We are a group of ladies providing warm items for the homeless in a city with 1,500 homeless people in any given night. Winter and the cold will set in soon and I need to get items taken to 2 different places that serve the homeless by Nov to Dec. It is cold here from Nov to Mar.
We are here to crochet and knit warm caps, ear warmers, shawls and scarves and some blankets for those who are less fortunate then us. I can help pay the postage for those of you on a budget. The 2 place I give to are Good Neighbor and Salvation Army who are just down the street from me. Our items are used as Christmas gifts I was told.
I also make crochet diaper bags of which I have the pattern for and I add ‘goodies’ for the baby to the bags for low-income Moms. This time I am adding a Coupon Holder made of plastic canvas some of you ladies who CAN’T crochet or knit will be able to make these for me. ANd they are easy to ship. I hope you ladies enjoy working with me and can make some friends here. THANK YOU for joining!!

The Pink Slipper Project

What Is the Pink Slipper Project?

The Pink Slipper Project is an endeavor to warm the hearts and the toes of women and children living in shelters. Their goal is to provide hand-made slippers to as many women and children that they possibly can, adding new challenges throughout the year.

Not only will a pair of handmade slippers help keep the recipients warm, when some have had to leave their home suddenly without any belongings, but will also be a daily reminder that someone cared enough about them to make something special just for them. A simple kindness goes a long way in the healing process.

Your slipper contribution does not need to be pink, and the slippers do not need to be made using our one seam rag slipper pattern, but they do need to be handmade, warm and, of course, new. Whether it be one pair of slipper you are donating or 20, your contribution is just as important.

When I remember thee upon my bed…..

Psalm 63:6-8 King James Version (KJV) 6When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. 7Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

So often at night I will have so many things going on in my mind that as I lay in my bed trying to go to sleep I will start praying and you know before long a peace will over take my body and I will be fast a sleep.  What better way to fall a sleep but in prayer with our Heavenly Father.  I remember about 12 years ago a time where I was in bed a sleep with my husband and pregnant with our oldest.  My husband and I were in a rough spot of our marriage and so things were not the greatest at that time.  Anyway, I was a sleep and I awoke to this darkness just over taking the room.  You could feel evil all around the bed and the light was getting smaller and smaller.  Not sure I have ever been that scared.  I started praying like I never had before and saying Bible Verses that I didn’t even know I knew.  With one hand on my child and another on my husband.  I told the devil that he wasn’t getting my family and that in the name of Jesus He wasn’t welcome.  I went on to tell him that since He wasn’t welcome that in Jesus Name he had to go.  This battle went on for what seem like a long time (but I am sure it wasn’t as long as it seemed).  Finally the darkness started disappearing and I felt as if I could breath again.  A wonderful peace came over me and I went back to sleep almost right away.   So you see we can truly rest in His shadows and have peace that God has our back.  I know sometimes it is hard to have faith in the shadows of the vallies that we must walk but know that even at your lowest moment God has your back…if you will only reach out to Him.  Praying that God is with each of you today and giving you peace and happiness.
